This training program was started as a result of a common initiative by five different mission organizations that had the goal of reaching non-Christian children and teens in Germany with the gospel.
The director and faculty have been coordinating this program since the summer of 2003, and by this time, the first students have already graduated from the program. There are currently 34 students enrolled in BSB’s Children and Youth Missionary Program.
The AKTM program should contribute to helping this generation of young people to encounter today’s society with a clear sense of orientation and an authentic life through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
This innovative training program offers a completely new approach to theological training for most young Christians, in which, without overlooking the theory, the major emphasis is on the ministry praxis. More than 50% of our students complete their internships under the leadership of missionaries or directors of mission organizations.
In connection with the BSB course work, students will be trained for children’s and youth ministry in mission work or in a church setting both in Germany and abroad in this three-year program. Students completing this course are officially considered to be Youth Educational Consultants, according to the German BAFöG.
