Theological Evening School Program

Our Theological Evening School Program seeks to prepare lay ministers for service in church and mission work by giving them a firm biblical and theological foundation for their work. We believe that in the future, the Christian church will not be able to survive with only full-time ministers but will become more and more dependent on volunteer lay ministry.

Children’s ministry leaders, youth leaders, Bible study leaders, worship leaders, and many other volunteers in Christian ministry have the challenge of teaching others the Bible and passing along practical applications for personal life. Therefore, we believe that they should not miss out on a foundational, theological education. The Theological Evening School is a good alternative for those who are unable to enroll as full-time students at Bibelseminar Bonn.

Entrance Requirements

If you are over 18 years of age and have completed at least a 10-year secondary education program, we welcome your application. In addition, we expect that you have made a conscious decision to follow Jesus Christ and that you are prepared to use the acquired knowledge and skills in service to the church.

Degree Completion and Further Studies

At the end of the Theological Evening School, you will have completed the course work for the Biblical Studies Program at Bibelseminar Bonn. Then you have the opportunity to take part in further studies in the Bible School Program on campus. The Theological Evening School Program replaces the one-year Biblical Studies Program offered on campus. This means that when the student can demonstrate preparedness for higher learning, he/she can enter the Bible School Program in the second year and complete the second and third years on campus.

Another available study option is the Distance Learning Program. If a student is unable to complete the Theological Evening School for some reason (relocation, sickness, etc), he/she has the opportunity to complete the remaining course work through the Distance Learning Program or the Weekend Training Program.

Course Fees

We want to keep the costs as minimal as possible. However, we are only able to do this when we receive sufficient funds through supporters of Bibelseminar Bonn. One credit hour costs 45,00 Euros (If a course has 2 credit hours, it will meet two hours per week for 15 weeks and will cost 90,00 Euros). We expect that every participant will completely cover the costs incurred through his/her studies. This amount can be paid in installments.
