The goal of the Bible College Program is to prepare students for Christian ministry. The student completing this program should be capable of leading in several areas of church work. The completion of this program qualifies the student as a missionary, pastor, counseling helper, youth worker, or catechist.
The Bible College Program generally incorporates 144 credit hours (CE). One credit hour consists of 15 hours of instruction. One course typically has 2 credit hours.
Both programs include Christian Service (consisting of 2 hours each week in every semester –worth 2 credit hours—and a 0.5 credit hour reflection), internships (2 weeks in February and 9 weeks each summer), and the chapel services (spiritual reflection, various areas of mission work, 1.5 credit hours).
Through the Bible College Program at BSB, we would like to help you to cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, to gain tools for studying and understanding the Bible, to acquire practical skills for service in the church, and to develop a mission-centered worldview.
For admission to the Biblical Studies Program, one must:
A completed professional education is desired.
The completion of this program qualifies the student as a missionary, pastor, counseling helper, youth worker, or catechist. It is comparable to a Bachelor of Arts (B. A.) degree in English-speaking countries. Typically, the completion of the three-year Bible College Program will be recognized in international settings as an entrance requirement for further studies at the M.A. level (M. A. Theology or M. Div.).
In addition to the application forms, acceptance of the applicant is also dependent upon at least two personal recommendations from a pastor, counselor, friend, etc. When necessary, more recommendations may also be requested.
The BSB administrators, who are responsible for the processing of application forms, also conduct a personal interview with every applicant. The application documents will also be reviewed by either the president of the seminary or the academic dean. In cases of doubt, the final decision will be made through a meeting of the leadership of the seminary. The applicant will then be informed about the decision by the appropriate person.
