Our Beliefs

Bibelseminar Bonn exists as an evangelical training center, whose faculty and staff come from various evangelical churches. Along with other Christians worldwide, we confess the Christian faith as it has been expressed in the Apostles Creed. We affirm the Baptist-Mennonite Confession of 1997 as well as the following confessions resulting from the evangelical movement: the Basis of Faith of the Evangelical Alliance (1972), the Lausanne Covenant (1974), and the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy (1978).

Based on the Holy Scriptures, we believe:

in the one, everlasting, triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;

that the Holy Scripture is the inspired, infallible, and in every respect inerrant Word of God as well as the binding authority for faith and life;

in Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, performed miracles, gave His life away in sacrificial death to reconcile people to God, rose bodily, ascended to the right hand of the Father in Heaven, and will come again in power and glory;

that, since the Fall of Man, mankind is lost and separated from God, and thus every person is on the way to everlasting damnation;

that Jesus Christ is the only way to God for all men. He died and rose again, so that everyone who repents receives forgiveness of sins and eternal life that comes through a personal relationship to Jesus Christ.

that God’s general remedial will and His choosing action do not contradict but complement each other and

that a Christian must live according to his accepted election in order not to fall back into unbelief. Therefore each believer should be anxious to live in holiness and to become more like Christ;

that Jesus Christ compels us to proclamation the gospel in word and deed, and that the Holy Spirit leads sinners to repentance and faith to make them member of the church universal.

that Christians, baptized in the name of a triune God, gather together in local churches to worship God and to build each other up in the Christian service;

that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, that are mentioned in the New Testament, are still granted to those how receive them in faith. We oppose unbiblical and unhealthy emphasizes on particular spiritual gifts.

that the church of Jesus will be raptured and will reign with Christ;

that the dead will be bodily raised; that the believers are eternally saved, the unbelievers are eternally lost, and

that God will create a new heaven and a new earth, and his kingdom will be established and will remain eternally.
